Pilton Party, Bodixa signing
The first big news that's going on Bandwatch is that three of the 2004 competition bands are playing at the annual Pilton Party in September. This is an event put on by Michael Eavis as a strange sort of thank you to local residents for letting him put lots of bands on earlier in the year. Makes no sense to me but there you go. Anyway this year The Subways, Blackbud and Death Before Dishonour are all playing before two headline acts so get yourself there if you're a local.

Also Bodixa have recently announced that they've signed a deal with Complete. This comes on the back of Blackbud signing to Independiente just a few weeks ago.

The Subways are going to be in the November issue of Vogue and on Zane Lowe's show soon, but I don't know exactly when, I'll keep you posted.

Hello all
Add yourself if you want to read about what's happening to Glastonbury Festival Unsigned Bands Competition winners.

Anyone interested in new music in the UK with £5 to spare should shell out for the charity competition cd compiled by Concrete Recordings

The competition is run in four categories covering four of the festival's stages, the New Tent, Acoustic Tent, JazzWorld Stage and Dance Tent. 6 finalists are chosen for each stage and one winner is chosen to play that stage at the festival. This was first run in 2004 and will be run again this year. A lot of other competition bands also get to play other stages at the festival.

These are the bands that made the finals of the 2004 competition, who until the next competition finals are announced are the one's we'll be watching. Make sense? Here they are:

Menlo Park
Note For a Child
Ralfe Band
The Rosinators

The Bilderberg Group
Cream Tangerine (stepped in)
Hombres Imposible
The loveGods (had to pull out)
The Subways

The Magenta House
Walking Wounded

Dark Chunk
Death Before Dishonour

Winners in bold. I'll update the journal with news when I get it. That's all.
